Clippo
Clippo and Maccy
Maccy is a great clipboard manager and it's free too. If it does everything you need, keep it. Clippo exists because I wanted a few things on top: pasting a batch of items in order, keeping lists of phrases I paste all the time, and a history file that isn't plain text.
Where Clippo is different
- Paste queue. Press ⌘', copy several things, then each ⌘V pastes the next one. ⇧⌘C turns a selected column into separate items, handy for spreadsheets and web forms.
- Saved lists (⌘I) for replies, addresses, templates. A digit pastes a line.
- History and images are encrypted on disk.
- Its windows are marked private, so they stay out of screenshots and Telegram screen sharing.
Where Maccy is ahead
- Pinned items. Clippo doesn't have them yet, they're planned for the next version.
- Maccy has been around for years and is on the Mac App Store. Clippo is new and isn't notarized yet, so the first launch needs a click in Privacy & Security.
Both are open source, so trying Clippo costs nothing. Your Maccy history stays where it is.
